History

Matthew 28 Nineteen Ministries began officially in January 2015.

My name is Mark Pearson and my wife’s name is April. We are missionaries currently serving in Montana. I grew up the son of a missionary on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona. I was saved and baptized at the age of 5, moved to Arkansas at the age of 14, called into the ministry at the age of 17, and I spent the next 21 years discerning God’s call on my life. During that time, I served 4 years in the U.S. Army, worked 11 years for a major airline, and married my wonderful wife in 2005. We have 8 children. God has brought me back full circle to work to fulfill His Great Commission with both Native and non-Native Peoples. He continues to reveal His unique calling on my life.

In February 2013, I left my job with a major airline and moved to Montana to serve as a volunteer missionary working with an enrolled Assiniboine Indian pastor on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. I learned a lot about contextualizing the gospel to the Assiniboine and Gros Ventre peoples and indigenous people altogether. Serving here has been a tremendous journey of faith and we are in awe of God because of what He did and is doing. We have seen God do so many amazing things and He has blessed our family. We have been building relationships, serving people, and sharing Jesus both on and off the Reservation. Through these friendships, we have seen an incredible need for GOSPEL transformation in both the Native and non-Native people in Montana. Our mission is clear.

Our mission is to love God and love our neighbors by crossing boundaries,
serving the needs of others, and equipping them to do the same.

Growing up with the Navajo and now having spent the last three years here in Montana, I have seen how cultural customs and traditions often divide communities.  I also recognize that the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs here are great. In essence, God has given us a GOD-SIZED task. Therefore, we are stepping out of the boat and onto the water!

To fulfill this mission and achieve our vision of making disciples, God has prompted April and I to start Matthew 28 Nineteen Ministries.  This non-profit organization will expand the reach of the gospel to a broader cross-section of Montanans. The Great Commission is our overriding goal and passion. While we continue to work with Native Americans, we must build community between people groups, and create opportunities for them to serve one another. We must plant the gospel and live it. Therefore, Matthew 28 Nineteen Ministries will serve to provide the necessary resources for me to continue serving as a missionary. God has revealed to us this broader scope to our calling. Matthew 28 Nineteen will also be a ministry hub for like-minded churches in this region and we will host mission teams to invest in this community. Matthew 28 Nineteen is a 501(c)(3) organization.
